Why do people applaud at inanimate objects?
May 30th, 2009 | by Kert |SquizzleSquerk asked:
Example: when visiting Yellowstone National Park last summer after an eruption of Old Faithful, everyone clapped and applauded at the geyser, like it’ll acknowledge the applause. I’ve also found applause in movie theaters, most recently during the new Xmen film. Is there something in the human psyche that causes people in groups to do actions such as that, or what would the cause be?
