Is Quttinirpaaq National Park a joke?

its got spetacular scenary and all that, but I wonder if the park is really worth visiting or suitable for famillies on vacation (including kids and grandparents)
It costs $40,000 cdn just for a round trip from resolute bay and its FREEZING COLD there!
Why would they make a national park up there anyways, its not like they’re going to have any tourists…
